As a founder member it gives me great regret to have to step away from my (albeit very limited) commitments with Yaxley Riders.
It is very important for the group though that these duties do get picked up so I am keen to pass the following on to willing volunteers within the group. The admin team you have work tirelessly for YR and deserve the support.
1. Website developer and editor - This can be using the existing platform or developing a new website. I am happy to pass on the ownership of the domain name for the remainder of its current run before payment is needed. I am happy to train whomever wishes to take it on if the current site is maintained.
2. Yaxley Festival committee liason - Initial conversations and a meeting have already taken place with the festival management team. Every year people post in YR to ask what we are doing at the festival. The plan is for a cycling event of some sort. I am happy to give an introduction and share where we are at with this. There could be funding for this so you will need the desire to manage a budget to deliver an event.... and of course be around on the weekend of Yaxleyfest!
3. Yaxley Community Hub - This is at the very start but I have discussed the possibility of some advertising space in the Community centre which has been earmaked to re-open in the shopping centre. This is ideal for getting across the message about safe cycling and busting some of the myths about how we ride and what we do.
4. Kit - We haven't had the demand for an order for quite some time but the person responsible will need to liase with the supplier to open an ordering window. You must then take delivery of the kit (it comes to one address to save postage costs for members) and then get it distributed. We have had a number of enquiries from other suppliers and I have a portfolio of new designs we could pick which I am happy to share.
