Some top notch racing coming up on our doorstep in the next 6 weeks.

01 Apr 2016

Whilst the excitement builds towards the Tour of Cambridgeshire passing through Yaxley once again, there is plenty of high quality bike racing available locally to watch.

Much of it is coming up over the next 6 weeks or so.

The time trial season is going to be hotting up and we are fortunate enough to have one of the fastest courses in the country a brief 5 mile ride away.

The not very catchily named N1/10 starts at Sawtry travelling north on the old A1 service road to the Stilton roundabout before retracing its steps back.

In recent years pro riders such as Alex Dowsett and Michael Hutchinson have raced here getting comfortably under 20 minutes (so 30mph average) in winning events.

There are three upcoming races on the course, all on Saturday afternoons from 2pm with up to 120 riders (if a full field).

Riders in a ten always appreciate a bit of support from the road side so get along as part of a ride you might have planned and enjoy the action.

Here are those dates.

Massive thanks to the local clubs who are putting these on.

16th April St Ives CC

23rd April N&DCA (Fenland Clarion)

14th May Peterborough Cycling Club
